Juan Manuel MarquezJuan Manuel Marquez said he is currently playing a waiting game as far as a fourth fight with Manny Pacquiao is concerned. Marquez said his Mexican promoter Fernando Beltran mentioned a possible fight in July and a fourth face-off against Pacquiao in November. But he said he’ll wait for formal talks with Top Rank Inc. chief executive Bob Arum.

There’s been discussion about me fighting in July, but maybe I’ll fight with Manny on November 10. Beltran said that, but I need to wait for Bob Arum,” said Marquez in RingTV.

It looks like Manny Pacquiao won’t be set for a rematch against Timothy Bradley after the controversial outcome of their title fight last June 9. The Filipino champion came out empty handed despite a dominant performance against Bradley. Arum also publicly mentioned that he’ll possibly set up Pacquiao for a lucrative fourth square off against Juan Manuel Marquez.

If Bob Arum says that I’ll fight with Manny on November 10, that would be great for me. I don’t know what will happen. It’s maybe. I’m not sure. Bob Arum said Manny might want to fight me in Mexico. That would be a great thing for me,” Marquez said.

Pacquiao and Marquez have already figured in three controversial fights. In 2004 the two fought to a draw despite the Filipino boxer scoring three first-round knockdowns against Marquez.

Four years later, Pacquiao hammered out a split decision win by virtue of his third-round knockdown versus the Mexican. The two boxers met again last November, when the Filipino came out with a unanimous decision victory over Marquez despite looking vulnerable against the Mexican’s accurate counter-punching.

If the negotiation goes well, we have Pacquiao vs Marquez IV on November 10. The venue still not decided though Pacquiao wants to fight Marquez in Mexico.
